Project Overview

Oshun Family Center provides racially concordant care to members of the Black community who are seeking to achieve optimal wellness through psychotherapy and holistic healing and birthing modalities such as doula and lactation support. Our collaboration with Oshun Family Center began with designing their logo and has since expanded into a comprehensive partnership, covering all their design needs. This includes social media, print marketing materials, a dynamic website, and a robust fundraising toolkit. Our goal was to create a cohesive brand identity that effectively communicates the center’s mission and values while engaging and empowering the community.

The Challenge

Initially, Oshun Family Center faced challenges with inconsistent brand messaging across various platforms. Key information was difficult to locate on their website, and the overall brand identity lacked clarity and cohesion. Our task was to unify the brand’s visual and verbal communication to enhance its impact and reach.

The Process

To address these challenges, we employed a structured design process:

Site Map: We created a detailed site map to ensure clear navigation and easy access to key information

• Data Analysis: We analyzed user data to identify pain points and areas for improvement.

• Skeleton Wireframe: A basic wireframe was developed to establish the structure and layout of the website.

• Prototype and Usability Testing: We created prototypes and conducted usability testing to validate our design decisions and ensure a user-friendly experience.

Communicating Vision, Impact, and Outreach

We enhanced the website to clearly highlight Oshun Family Center’s vision and impact. This included prominently featuring key impact numbers and success stories to illustrate the tangible benefits the center provides. We ensured the problem the organization addresses was clearly and compellingly presented, making it easy for visitors to understand the critical need for their services and the positive outcomes they achieve.

Donation and Capital Fundraising Campaign

To support Oshun Family Center’s fundraising efforts, we designed a targeted landing page that effectively communicates the importance of donations. This included data visualization elements to show the impact of contributions and a digital fundraising toolkit to streamline the donation process.

We developed a suite of marketing materials, including t-shirts, business cards, flyers, stationary, and brochures. These items were designed to promote the services and mission, ensuring a consistent brand presence across all touchpoints. The fundraising toolkit also included these marketing items to bolster fundraising campaigns.

Brand Identity

The brand identity for Oshun Family Center is rooted in Black culture and inspired by Adinkra symbols, creating a modern yet culturally rich aesthetic. The use of yellow, pink, and black colors provided a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, while clear lettering and handwritten script accents added a personal touch.
